My favorite meal of the day is breakfast, and in my many many years of traveling and trying hundreds of different breakfast places, I've got to say that Fat Dave's holds a special place in my heart. The same gals been working there for literally, ever. I apologize I don't remember names very well, but the foods always fresh, coffee is always hot, my cup is always full, and the environment is kid friendly, retired friendly, just wanna get some good food friendly. And y'all are like, 10 minutes away. Keep up the good work. Ps- I love to cook......

Great prices, great food, drink refilled in a timely manner. I had the sausage and cheddar omelette with hash browns, perfect texture on the hash browns and the omelette had enough of each ingredient. Great portion size too.

I first heard of Fat Dave's a few years ago, but never had the chance to try them. Hubby said, "Let's try something different.", so I dusted off my file of Vancouver restaurants, and Fat Dave's popped up. I figured after 35 years in business, they must be doing something right. They have the good Yelp ratings to back up my theory. So, FD's it was. We had a late lunch/early dinner this past Friday. As we entered the restaurant, I noticed that the decor was dated but clean and comfortable. The few other diners were friendly, and I think "Norm!" from Cheers was sitting at the other table, telling us to go ahead and sit down, the waitress was in the back, and would be right out. LOL Service was prompt, friendly, and fun as our waitress, Heather, helped me with menu info, and later displayed our food for the camera in her best game show pose (edited out drats!). The menu had many homestyle favorites at reasonable prices. Hubby ordered their Sausage Omelette Plate with Hashbrowns & Toast, and a twin stack of pancakes the size of a small pizza! LOL Yes, portion sizes are filling. I ordered the Soup and Half Sandwich. The soup was a delicious cup of what tasted like homemade Clam Chowder. I chose Turkey & Swiss Cheese with mayo, hold the onion. It came on a fresh and tasty "white" bread. I was pleased with my meal, but realized I customized my meal into a bit of a bland combo, so I regretted my lack of onion, and asked for some mustard to zip up my sammy. Yum! Fat Dave's turned out to be a good little hole in the wall to land in whenever we dive into The Couve.

Food: hands down, perfect burger. Atmosphere: well, come on, the place is called Fat Dave's. It's old, it's got character, it's dead as a doornail in off times, and a line out the door when it's busy. There's a hidden bar in back. Old school diner. Service: local folks, making it friendly enough.

Very friendly staff with long term clientele and employees. Food is great and reasonably priced. Only negative I can mention is this is an older establishment in an older building so if you are looking for upscale atmosphere, you might be disappointed. Mostly eaten breakfast here but am going to expand my horizons and try the dinner menu soon.

Local and divey the staff are friendly professional and very kind. The food quality isn't bad but isn't great either I don't expect to much when it comes to the American classics it's simple the portions are filling and satisfying. Price is little on the high side but it's also 2022 and thanks to the politics in our country and the extreme hardships triggered by inflation which raises cost it's what you can expect for now. They tend to have an older generation clientele 60-70s mostly with Burgerville across the street you have so many customers going to your competition. You have to make changes to stay competitive. Marketing and upgrading would be huge to help bring this business back. However I will say the interior decor is way dated from the booths to the wall design and paint and carpets this place is stuck in the 80s The leather backs of the seats are extremely dirty making the leather discolored if you gonna keep the booth use leather Chemical Guys leather cleaner and conditioning or Maguire's Leather Cleaner it will help. Bathrooms are clean. The place feel like it has a depression vibe at times the decor update to more modern decor would actually bring some new life into this restaurant. White paint laminated wood flooring chair with bar stools and tables and modern cafe style chairs would be beautiful to see. Otherwise 4stars 1 star will be added when you update you decor it really does add to the experience.

The liver & onions were great. I really like this place. I also love their hot roast beef sandwiches, and their hot roast Turkey sandwiches.
